MIA and MPA Concentrations

MIA and MPA Concentrations

All students in the Master of International Affairs (MIA) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs are required to select a policy concentration as a core component of their degree. Concentrations offer students the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge in a specific area of policy and practice. Students may also choose to pursue one optional minor to complement their concentration, but they may not declare more than one concentration or more than one minor.

Each concentration requires the completion of 15 credits, typically fulfilled through five courses. These courses are selected in consultation with faculty and advisors to support the student’s academic and professional goals. Concentrations are designed to equip students with the analytical tools, substantive knowledge, and practical skills needed to address complex global and domestic challenges.
