SIPA Annual Fund

  • Giving to the SIPA Annual Fund ensures that our students and faculty have the resources they need to develop and implement bold ideas to address society’s most pressing issues and challenges.  The Annual Fund is the mainstay of SIPA’s budget. It is available for immediate use, allowing the Dean to implement new ideas and to deepen existing programs.

Your gift to the SIPA Annual Fund will support the School’s first priority, meeting the urgent needs of our students. Providing critically needed financial aid to emergency funding for unexpected needs for healthcare and basic supplies, your gift will have immediate and meaningful impact on our students.

  • Whether it has been five years since you graduated from SIPA or fifty years, milestone reunion years are a time to reflect on your SIPA experience and what it means to you. Many alumni choose to commemorate their graduating class by “paying it forward,” and making a special gift to support current and future SIPA students. With your support, you can help to ensure that today’s SIPA students receive the same exemplary education that you did.

  • We are pleased to recognize cumulative gifts to SIPA of $1,500 or higher ($500+ for those that graduated in the last 10 years) during a fiscal year as leadership level gifts. Giving at the leadership level demonstrates your dedication to SIPA’s mission and provides the School with immediate, unrestricted support for our most important activities and programs. Leadership level support is essential to the school’s continued success.

  • Your gift to the Dean’s Initiatives Fund provides the Dean with the flexibility to fund SIPA’s most urgent and immediate priorities, including essential support for students, innovative programs, and critical faculty research.

  • Through its International Fellows Program (IFP), SIPA has for more than half a century offered students a unique course of graduate study that combines a heightened understanding of international change with practical preparation to deal with a complex and changing world. The International Fellows Program is a two-semester seminar open to students of all graduate degree programs at Columbia University. The diverse perspectives and professional backgrounds that fellows bring to the program enrich their yearlong common enterprise.

  • SIPA prepares students to transform the world. SIPA's degree programs have rigorous but flexible curriculums that help prepare SIPA students for professional success in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Beyond the designated core curriculum, two-year Master of International Affairs and Master of Public Administration students must complete the requirements for one of six policy concentrations and a specialization focused on a particular skill or area of knowledge.

  • The challenges of the last several years have presented a new and more urgent set of technology issues and facilities improvements for SIPA.

  • Each year we look forward with great anticipation to SIPA’s Global Leadership Awards Gala to recognize remarkable leaders and bring together our diverse, global community of alumni, friends, faculty, and students. All proceeds from the Gala provide critical financial aid for our students – from making their SIPA education affordable to helping them weather unexpected emergencies.
