Heads of state, business leaders, and members of civil society are all gathering for COP26 in Glasgow for two weeks in November to deliberate on what more needs to happen to keep the goal of limiting Earth’s warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

This year, SIPA will be represented by student Eduarda Zoghbi MPA ’22, a climate acrivist from Brazil, and Jason Bordoff, founding director of SIPA's Center on Global Energy Policy and a cofounding dean of Columbia Climate School. Bordoff will be joined by CGEP's Julio Friedmann, Antoine Halff, Mary Nichols, and David Sandalow.

On Thursday, November 4, Bordoff will participate in “The Columbia Climate School at COP26: Turning Ambition into Action” live from COP26.

On Monday, November 8, CGEP is partnering with the Obama Foundation to host former President Barack Obama for a roundtable with youth activists, students from Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, and Obama Foundation Scholars Program alumni, to discuss how to accelerate climate action.
