Green Entrepreneurship Training for Youth Competing in imaGen Ventures 4.0 in Kenya

A team of Columbia/SIPA students collaborated with UNICEF and Generation Unlimited to pilot proposed solutions in Kenya that skill young people and connect them to opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and social impact. The team explored the importance of incorporating a “green” perspective into GenU’s curriculum, reviewed the current state of green entrepreneurship, and presented recommendations for incorporating green entrepreneurship into the imaGen Ventures 4.0 Strategy curriculum. Their recommendations included conducting an ecosystem mapping of stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and support for young entrepreneurs with sustainable, green business ideas, and developing a broad definition of “green” that is responsive, actionable and relatable for young entrepreneurs.
