Proposed solutions such as private higher threshold deposit insurance have been shown to better insure bank users who deposit more than $250,000. But Charles Calomiris says deposit insurance isn't necessarily the right answer. 

The three panelists have been colleagues and partners in the NYC Administration and in private projects.

The panel, hosted by Columbia University Professor of History Matthew Connelly, took the U.S. government to task for its unwillingness to declassify government records that are not dangerous if they were made public.
