Final Report
For this Capstone project, the Capstone team was tasked with exploring the future of cyber resilience. The project aimed to define what resilience means for organizations, how it can be operationalized, and whether true resilience is achievable in the face of evolving cyber threats. The team focused on three critical sectors—defense, finance, and healthcare—analyzing the current state of cyber resilience and predicting how these sectors will need to adapt to emerging risks in the coming years.
The project involved a deep dive into sector-specific challenges and gaps in resilience, such as over-reliance on third-party vendors, fragmented regulatory frameworks, and underinvestment in recovery capabilities. Through a combination of interviews with industry experts and analysis of recent case studies, the team identified key trends and recommended strategies to improve resilience across these sectors. Their recommendations emphasized the importance of embedding resilience into business continuity planning, integrating cyber resilience into corporate governance, and addressing the complexities of managing third-party dependencies.
The report also looked forward, considering how emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing could reshape the landscape of cyber resilience. In doing so, the project not only provided insights into the present state of cyber resilience but also offered actionable strategies for future-proofing organizations against increasingly sophisticated and systemic cyber threats. Ultimately, the team aimed to help the client develop a cyber resilience strategy service offering that is both proactive and adaptable, and aligns with future challenges.
