Structural Violence in New York City: A Provisional Report

Structural Violence in New York City: A Provisional Report identified 21 appropriate indicators that measure and track structural violence and demonstrate what its compounding effects on the well- being of New Yorkers look like. The report was designed to highlight the role that past political, social, economic policies and decisions played in New York City in the creation of structural violence, and their continuing effects on the City’s populations today. The aim of the project was to break the silos that usually guide the process of policymaking and programming, and to meaningfully address the inequity present in low-resource communities of color in New York City.
