Strengthening Local Capacity for Agricultural Improvements in Sauri, Kenya
The Millennium Villages Project (MVP) is a community-level initiative that complements the national-level policy focus emphasized by governments and the UN Millennium Project to accomplish the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Its purpose is to empower impoverished African rural communities to accomplish all of the MDGs by 2015. The objective of the workshop was to provide one step toward a broader strategy for scaling up and sustaining the gains of the MVP when the project officially ends. This approach may also deepen the opportunities for sustainability of the community level information system and knowledge centers the MVP is implementing as part of its participation and governance strategy.
