Covenant House International (CHI) is the largest service and human rights network for abandoned, abused, trafficked and exploited youth in the Americas. It is the only program of its kind in this region where human trafficking has become increasingly prevalent but where there is a lack of reliable data available to assess the magnitude of child trafficking problem or the effectiveness of models of care and treatment. A team of SIPA students was therefore asked to review and develop a process to standardize the intake, diagnostic, and general information-gathering tools and methods utilized in CHI’s Latin America Casas so that governments and NGOs in the region can more effectively combat human trafficking and offer effective protection and treatment to victims.
