Seed Collection in the Brazilian Amazon: Socioeconomic Development through Sustainable Partnerships

Beraca is a Brazilian firm that works with seed collectors in various communities in the Pará region of Brazil to acquire resources for the cosmetics market. In collaboration with 5 students from the University of Sao Paulo, a team of SIPA students was asked to examine the current relationship between Beraca and the communities and to provide recommendations on how to strengthen their partnership in order to improve the livelihoods, gender inequality, and the environmental and sustainable practices in the communities.
