NY State Assembly Bill A05947: Prohibiting Importation of Certain Wildlife and Fish, And Live Animal Market Restrictions - Giacomo Di Capua During the Final Briefings, students in the MPA in Environmental Science and Policy program will present their findings as a part of ENVP U9229 The Workshop in Applied Earth Systems Management I and II. In the summer and fall semesters, the Workshop emphasizes management issues. Students enroll in small, faculty-advised project teams. Each Workshop faculty member selects a piece of proposed, but not yet enacted, state, federal, or local environmental law (or a U.N. resolution), and students are asked to develop a plan for implementing and managing the new program. In the summer semester, the WorAnastasia Roykshop groups write reports explaining the environmental science aspects of the issue that the legislation addresses and the management solutions that the legislation would put into place. In the fall semester, our current semester for the academic year, the Workshop completes the operational plan for implementing the program. The projects this year include:
- NY State Assembly 4631-B: The Fashion Environmental Accountability Act
- NYC Council Introduction 942: Replacement of Lead Water Service Lines
- NY State Assembly Bill A05947: Prohibiting Importation of Certain Wildlife and Fish, And Live Animal Market Restrictions
- NY State Senate Bill S2162: Pollinator Promotion Act
- NY State Senate Bill S1028: Safe Havens for All-Day Enjoyment (SHADE) Act
