Keys to Progress Toward the Millennium Development Goals

The current focus of the UNDP's Bureau for Development Policy/Poverty Reduction Group (BDP/PRG) is the achievement of Millennium Development Goals by 2015. BDP/PRG has identified several countries that are not on track to achieving the MDGs and therefore developed MDG Acceleration Framework (MAF) to identify and prioritize “bottlenecks” or hindrances to the implementation of high impact interventions that are key to MDG achievement. Building on the research of UNDP, the SIPA team researched and analyzed the bottlenecks for accelerated achievement of MDG 1 (Eradicate extreme hunger) and MDG 5 (Improve maternal health).
