Improving Data Science Literacy for the Open Development Initiative in the Mekong Region

Open Development Initiative, a network of websites providing open data on development trends in the Mekong Region, engaged the SIPA team to initiate a Donor and Development Assistance (DDA) section of their websites and develop the data literacy of the staff. The SIPA team conducted stakeholder interviews to inform the content and design of the DDA section and produced core content. Furthermore, the SIPA team improved the data literacy of the ODI teams through hands-on workshops in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Hanoi, Vietnam, and created an Open Data Toolkit to serve as a lasting resource for the organization. The project turned out to be a unique hybrid-consultancy of both content and capacity.
