Implementation Plan: SIDS DOCK National Financing Mechanism and Related Training Materials
SIDS DOCK is a small island institutional mechanism established to facilitate the development of a low carbon economy within the small island developing states. Transforming the energy sector away from petroleum dependency is the pathway for SIDS to generate the significant levels of financial resources that will be needed for adaptation to the impacts of climate change and building a more resilient economy. In December 2010, in Cancun, Mexico, SIDS DOCK was launched with four Partners: the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank, and the Government of Denmark, which announced a grant of USD14.5 million in start-up contributions for the SIDS DOCK Support Programme. Capstone team will develop a profile of this program and highlight the key lessons learned and components of the program that can be transferred to other islands.
