SIPA Alumnae Jacobs, Slotkin win US Elections

Elissa Slotkin MIA ’03 won a US Michigan Senate seat. Slotkin, who has worked at the CIA and the Defense Department, has represented Michigan’s 7th district in Congress since 2019.

Slotkin last visited SIPA in April 2019, when she was the keynote speaker at Alumni Day.

In California, Sara Jacobs MIA ’12 won reelection to the US House in that state’s 51st Congressional District. The incumbent previously represented the 53rd congressional district from 2021 to 2023. 

In March, Jacobs joined SIPA alumnae on a panel moderated by Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton at launch of the Institute of Global Politics Women’s Initiative.
