Akaysha Palmer

Akaysha Palmer was born and raised in The Bronx, New York. She attended college at Seton Hall University where she studied Diplomacy and International Relations, and is the 2022 Charles B. Graduate Rangel Fellow. Her career goals include US Foreign Service Officer, and in her free time Akaysha throughly enjoys writing poems, painting, exploring, long walks in the park, and all things food! She previously interned at the US Embassy in Nassau, The Bahamas and the House of Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, and Global Human Rights. One of the things that attracted Akaysha to SIPA was the opportunity to learn from practitioners and students from across the  world, while sharing their unique global perspectives with each other.

Akayshas advice to SIPA students: I would encourage any incoming student to remember that you belong and have so much to offer this space. Transitions can be challenging while we experience our own imposter syndromes, or miss wherever we call home; however, we are all here for a common goal: to make a difference. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to, so make the most of these two years and step outside of your comfort zone.
