Posted Dec 12 2012

Columbia University has established a new interdisciplinary research venue known as the Columbia Experimental Laboratory for the Social Sciences, or CELSS.

The facility on the fifth floor of the International Affairs Building will serve students and faculty in the economics, political science, and sociology departments; at SIPA; and at the Business School. Its 25 computers (24 for participants) will allow students and faculty to run laboratory experiments in a controlled setting.

CELSS is directed by Professor Alessandra Casella of the Department of Economics; Sebastien Turban, a PhD candidate in economics, will serve as the facility's manager.

Students and alumni who wish to participate in studies and earn money while contributing to the advancement of social sciences may visit the CELSS website for more information.
