The SIPA community remembers Jacqueline Escobar MIA ’10, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, who died on August 17, 2021.

Thanks to her classmate Drew Hart MIA ’10, who sent the following:

“Jackie was a dedicated service member, beloved classmate, and CrossFit devotee. After graduating from SIPA with a concentration in International Security Policy, she proudly continued serving her country around the world, taught at West Point, and commanded a U.S. Army battalion. Fellow alumni remember Jackie’s warmth, sense of humor, and no-nonsense attitude, as well as her love of the SIPA Follies and her great patience for Capstone teammates.”

Escobar received the General William DePuy Writing Award in 2012 and was honored with the Joint Women’s Leadership Meritorious Service Award in 2018. Learn more and read a note from her husband, David Escobar, here.
