SIPA welcomes Shaquana Gadsden, who joined SIPA on August 9 as the newest assistant dean in the Office of Student Affairs. In addition to serving as an academic advisor to MIA and MPA students, Gadsden will serve as OSA’s liaison for issues of diversity, equity, and Inclusion (DEI). She will also manage student life activities at SIPA.
Shaquana arrives at SIPA from Pace University, where she managed event logistics, student leader training, office operations, and leadership development for the student engagement office there. During her time at Pace, she founded the People of Color Collective, an affinity group for staff and faculty of color. She also served on Pace's presidential advisory taskforce for DEI, which strove to make the University a more inclusive place.
Gadsen earned her BA in Africana studies and her MA in African American history from the University at Albany.
