Frontier Technology: Next-Generation Methods for International Security

In this Capstone project, students considered contemporary changes in U.S. technology policy and assessed potential shifts in technology advancement at the U.S. Department of Defense, USASOC. With guidance from USASOC, students considered macro and micro questions:

• Macro Question:  What are the current debates that may impact national security technology in the National Defense Authorization Act [NDAA]? What are potential tech policy changes resulting from the 119th Congress?

• Micro Question:  What expected changes may have the greatest impact on USASOC's testing, procurement, use, and development?

Students completed weekly analysis of the NDAA debates, hearings, markups, primers, activities, and committee meetings. The student team completed two briefings and a final report that presented their NDAA findings.
