Tom Casazzone is the Director of Finance & Operations at the Mill River Park Collaborative, an organization committed to building an inviting and exciting park and greenway in the heart of Stamford, CT.  He oversees all aspects of financial management, budgeting, analysis and organizational operations for the $3M nonprofit and its multi-million dollar capital budget

Prior to Mill River, Tom served as the Executive Director of the Old Greenwich Riverside Community Center for five years - an organization dedicated to bringing high quality recreational programs to the youth and adults of Greenwich, CT.  Before that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Pencils of Promise (PoP), an innovative "for purpose" nonprofit organization providing quality education in the developing world. He came to PoP shortly after its founding in 2008 as the Director of Finance & Legal Affairs, overseeing an organization with five paid staff members and an annual raise of $85k. Throughout his tenure there, he became the Chief Operating Officer overseeing all organizational programs and operations after helping to grow the nonprofit to over 120 paid staff members and an annual raise of nearly $9M.

Tom has nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience at various sized and focused organizations. Prior to PoP, he worked as a legal consultant for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and in the business office at the Manhattan Theater Club, two widely acclaimed and respected nonprofit artistic institutions.

Tom has a JD from Boston College Law School and is a member in good standing of the New York Bar and the Connecticut Bar. He also attended Boston College as an undergraduate, receiving a BS in Environmental Geoscience and a minor in Music.
