Focus areas: Political economics, industrial organization, and public economics



Thomas Groll’s primary research areas are political economics, industrial organization, and public economics, with a particular focus on lobbying activities: how they are organized and undertaken, and their effects on policymaking and regulatory outcomes. His peer-reviewed research has been published in academic journals of economics and political science.

Groll teaches the core master’s course “Macroeconomics for International and Public Affairs.” He earned his PhD in economics from the University of Oregon and his diploma/master’s in economics from the University of Konstanz, Germany.
