Sarah Mathew '26 is a first-year Master of Public Administration Candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), concentrating on International Security Policy. She is also pursuing dual specializations in Technology, Media, and Communications (TMaC) and Leadership, Innovation, and Design (LID). Before SIPA, Sarah worked as a Communication Associate for Invisible Girl Project (IGP), an international nonprofit dedicated to rescuing girls from female gendercide in India. Her role brought her to New York for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women week, where she and her team hosted a parallel event to showcase their impactful work in India.
Sarah holds a B.A. in International Studies from Cedarville University in Ohio and has a keen interest in peacebuilding, negotiation, and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Originally from Raleigh, NC, she has lived in seven different states, three of which she has lived in twice.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her husband, discovering hidden gems around New York City, reading, catching up with friends over coffee, and taking walks in the city's beautiful parks. She is excited to talk with you about SIPA and the value you can receive from earning a SIPA degree.
