Personal Details

Sara Gerstner (she/her) is a first year PhD student in Sustainable Development at Columbia. Her interests are in environmental and agricultural economics, with a particular focus on sustainable food systems.

Prior to starting her PhD at Columbia, she worked as a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow for Dr. Eyal Frank at the University of Chicago (EPIC). She earned her master's degree in economics from New York University with the support of a KHMW-Eizenga Scholarship. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Milena Almagro at Chicago Booth. She holds an undergraduate degree in economics from University College Roosevelt in the Netherlands.
