Personal Details

Sameer Maskey is the Founder and CEO of an advanced Machine Learning Company called FuseMachines Inc. that builds state of the art Software robots for automating customer service departments by allowing robots to answer customer questions. The City Government of New York is one of its biggest client.

Sameer is one of the core Research Scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center responsible for DARPA funded Speech-to-Speech Translation project. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University for the course “Statistical Methods for Natural Language Processing” and “Programming for Entrepreneurs”. His most recent publications are Unsupervised Deep Belief Features for Speech Translation (Interspeech, Oregon 2012) with B. Zhou and Power Mean Pyramid Scores for Summarization Evaluation (Interspeech, Oregon 2012) with A. Rosenberg.

Sameer is the member of International Speech Communication Association, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and Sigma Xi Research Society. He speaks Newari, Nepali, Hindi and English.

His primary research interests are Natural Language and Speech Processing, Speech-to-Speech Translation, Information Extraction, Data Mining for Medical Domain and Statistical Methods/Machine Learning for Language Processing.

Sameer holds a PhD, a MPhil & an MS in Computer Science from Columbia University and a BS in Math & Physics from Bates College.
