Personal Details

Richard S. Goldberg is an Adjunct Professor of International and Public Affairs. 

Educator, investment banker and author – Richard Goldberg has been a thought leader for the global financial sector since the early 1980’s.

A mergers & acquisitions advisor to a number of the world’s largest banks, Richard’s Wall Street career included positions at Lehman Brothers as a corporate finance/M&A vice president, Lazard as a transactional M&A banker, and Wasserstein Perella as head of the North American financial institutions advisory practice.

Currently, Richard is a member of the faculty and Advisory Board of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he teaches an award winning class on the international financial services industry, and serves as a faculty advisor to the School’s Finance Society. He is also a senior advisor to a nationally recognized investment bank, Needham & Company and a board member of a publicly traded asset management firm.

In addition to his banking and Columbia experiences, Richard has been a published author including “The Battle for Wall Street” (publisher: Wiley), taught graduate courses at Brandeis University’s International Business School as a Senior Lecturer, provided industry commentary on Bloomberg TV and NPR, and guest lectured at prominent USA and European universities.
