Pertshuhi Torosyan

Pertshuhi Torosyan is an Associate Director at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she heads the foreign exchange desk responsible for implementing U.S. Monetary Authorities’ foreign exchange policies and contributes to the Federal Reserve’s assessment of global financial conditions and the monetary policy process. Over more than a decade at the New York Fed, she has held roles in international markets, including global market monitoring and research, implementing operations and briefing senior policymakers on global macroeconomic developments.
 

She has also served as an International Economist on secondment to the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Prior to joining the New York Fed, she worked in asset management and international development. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she co-teaches a graduate course on foreign exchange theory and practice. She holds master’s degrees in Finance from Brandeis University and in Public Policy from Columbia University.
