Olivier Nay is Professor of political science at the University of La Sorbonne.

Nay served in the UN system in the 2000s, as Coordination Advisor for the UNAIDS Committee of Cosponsoring Organizations and Principal Advisor for the UNESCO Global Initiative Education and HIV/AIDS, EDUCAIDS. He also served as Chair of the UNESCO Commission for a New International Strategy on HIV/AIDS and Education. He is a founding member of the think tank ‘Santé mondiale 2030’, based in Paris.

Nay was vice-chair of the French Association of Political Science, president of the Political Science section of the French National Academic Council, and an elected member of the executive committee of the International Political Science Association (IPSA).

Olivier Nay is specialized in the study of international organizations and global governance. He published on political elites in France, European public policies, fragile states, and global health governance. He has published peer-reviewed articles in prominent journals of political science, including The Lancet, Journal of Public Policy, Governance, West European Politics, Journal of European Integration, International Political Science Review, Third World Quarterly, among others. He is the author of a history of Western political ideas.
