Nick Stabile is an attorney, advocate, and team builder with over 11 years of experience across government, political campaigns, and private practice.  He works to reform government through legislative and policy development, litigation, and organizing. Nick has substantive expertise in securities law, bankruptcy law, immigration, real estate, housing, economic development, and elections and voting rights, 

Nick currently serves as the Legislative Director for the New York City Economic Development Corporation whose mission is to make New York City's neighborhoods and economy stronger and more inclusive. 

Previously, Nick served as Chief of Staff & Counsel to a New York State Senator. There, he built a team of ten, and together, they passed bills in the 2020 legislative session protecting renters and homeowners, expanded the Senator's media presence, and solved dozens of problems for our 330,000+ diverse constituents.  Nick has also served as an AAG in the New York State Attorney General's Office, where he advised on immigration policy and litigated civil rights challenges. 

Nick began his career in private practice, first at Davis Polk & Wardwell and then at Akin Gump.  He litigated securities and bankruptcy matters, including CDO and MBS suits and valuation disputes. Nick also protected the rights of victims of domestic violence, successfully suing the federal government to grant hundreds of children immigration status, so they could stay in the U.S. with their families.

In addition, Nick is an expert in election law, voting rights, redistricting, and ranked-choice voting (RCV).  Nick designed NYC's ranked-choice voting law, as Counsel to the NYC 2019 Charter Revision Commission. For five cycles, he protected thousands of people's right to vote, as a member of the Biden campaign and as a New York Director for Election Protection. Nick currently serves as the Board Chair of Ranked Choice NY, an RCV educational non-profit; on the Advisory Board of Rank the Vote, a national RCV non-profit; and as a Fellow at New York Law School's New York Census and Redistricting Institute.  He has published articles on election and constitutional law in the Northwestern University Law Review, the UPenn Journal of Constitutional Law, City Law, and the Queens Daily Eagle.

An alum of Northwestern Law, Nick served on the Law Review and as Research Assistant to Constitutional Law Prof. Steven G. Calabresi.  Raised in Queens, Nick resides with his wife in Chinatown, Manhattan, where he served on the Board of their coop and co-founded two neighborhood advocacy organizations.
