Focus Area: Climate

Michela Biasutti studies the dynamics of weather and climate in monsoon regions, the external forcings and internal mechanisms that have created droughts in the past and are going to create rainfall changes in the future, and the impacts of climate change on society. She is a Lamont Research Professor at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and a core faculty member in the MA program in Climate and Society at the Climate School.  

She holds a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington, Seattle (2003) and a Master in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington, Seattle (2000), as well as a Laurea (MS-equivalent) in Physics from the Università degli Studi di Trieste, Italy (1995).
