Maxim Visnovsky

Max Visnovsky (he/him/his)

Specialization: Regional – Russia and the Former Soviet States
Hometown: Prague, Czech Republic

Maxim is a second-year Master of International Affairs candidate at Columbia SIPA. His interests lie in the world of defense, security, and multilateral diplomacy. He graduated with a degree in War Studies at King’s College London and spent a year abroad at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. Maxim enrolled at SIPA directly upon completing his undergraduate studies.

In the past, Maxim worked for his national government, including at the Czech Embassy in London, the Permanent Delegation of the Czech Republic to NATO, and the Ministry of Defense. Currently, Maxim serves as President of the Columbia European Union Student Association (CEUSA), and a Harriman Junior Fellow, following his year as a Student Scholar at the Institute of Global Politics (IGP).

In his free time, Maxim enjoys learning languages, playing tennis, and exploring new places. He is happy to help prospective students learn more about SIPA and its unique opportunities.
