Personal Details

Markus Jaeger is a Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations in Berlin and a Senior Adviser at the Atlantic Council in Washington. Previously he was a Director at Deutsche Bank in New York and London where he held a variety of advisory and research roles. He has extensive experience analyzing the global economy, international trade and global capital markets as well as sovereign and political risk issues. His current research focuses on US, Chinese and European economic statecraft, geoeconomics and global economic governance. Markus has been a Visiting Scholar at the European University Institute in Italy and a Visiting Fellow at the Casa das Garças in Brazil. He attended Heidelberg University and Sciences Po, and he holds a MSc and PhD from the London School of Economics.
