Marc Jacquand

Focus area: Conflict resolution

Marc Jacquand teaches a class on Risk Management in complex environments (Spring) and a class on Global governance and the United Nations (Fall). 

Since January 2022, Marc is the Director of Strategy and Policy at the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS).  He is also a research fellow at the International Peace Institute on issues of universal connectivity and at the Dag Hammarskjold Foundation where he advises the Foundation on its UN leadership work, and he is member of the management board for TrustWorks Global where he focuses on mediation and strategic planning. 

Marc started his career as an analyst with Credit Lyonnais Securities, before spending 5 years working in the field of microfinance, for a Microfinance institution (FINCA) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). Over the last fifteen years, Marc has focused on the planning and coordination of conflict and post conflict responses, serving with UN peace operations in Jerusalem, Libya, Yemen and Somalia, with additional deployments for the UN in Haiti, Burundi and other crisis or post crisis settings. Between 2017 and 2019, he worked in the Executive Office of the Secretary General of the United Nations, with responsibilities for strategic planning and UN reform. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as strategic planning advisor to a range of UN entities, including the Office for Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) and most recently with the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Amman and Jerusalem.

He earned an MBA from the HEC School of Management in France and an MIA from the School of International and Public Affairs at SIPA.
