Liba Beyer is a seasoned campaigner and strategic communications expert with over two decades of experience. She has a proven track record of developing impactful, measurable, and scalable human rights campaigns that integrate public engagement with advocacy, brand, fundraising, and audience growth. During two decades at leading global rights group t Human Rights Watch (HRW), Liba served as the Director of Global Campaigns and launched HRW's first-ever campaigns unit. She created and led numerous communications and media initiatives, including a Persuasion Lab, influencer marketing program, and an integrated paid media framework. Liba opened and directed HRW's Midwest and Canadian fundraising, media, and advocacy offices, engaging and mobilizing donors and the public as the point person for staff and supporters in over 90 countries. Liba recently completed a P5 executive appointment with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to develop methodology, team and change theory for a right to seek asylum campaign. Liba also worked in the field, consulting on strategic planning, organizational development, rebranding, and impact evaluation in Rwanda, Indonesia, Thailand, Israel, and the Occupied Territories. Liba is a leader and trainer in solutions-based communications, emerging trends in digital advocacy campaigning, and building diverse and impactful teams. She holds an MPA from New York University's Wagner School of Public Service and teaches campaigning as an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
