Laurence Wilse-Samson is a Lead Economist in the US Economic Impact Consulting division of Oxford Economics, where he has worked since 2022. He has extensive experience in performing economic modelling, research and analysis for private and public organizations. He has experience working on topics ranging from labor policy, e-commerce platforms, creative industries, manufacturing investments, to real estate. In previous roles, Laurence was director of policy research for Bird, the micromobility startup, and has been responsible for providing economic analysis in the context of litigation and regulatory proceedings in the US, UK, and the European Union. He holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University, a master’s degree in economics from the LSE, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Cape Town. He lectures at NYU, Columbia, and the University of Johannesburg.
