Personal Details

Kate Harris is a finance executive and former government official. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Jain Global Fundamental Equities, a $5 billion global investment firm launched in July 2024. She was previously Chief Operating Officer of Skye Global Management, a global equities investment firm. 

Prior to the private sector, Kate held a variety of roles in public service. She served as New York State's Deputy Secretary for Finance & Technology where, among other things, she created a strategic roadmap for technological advances that could improve State operations. During the pandemic, she helped lead New York State's COVID Response as Director of the Reimagine New York Commission working with key business, philanthropic, academic, and labor leaders. Kate has held several positions in the federal government: as a member of the Policy Planning Staff at the State Department, as minority counsel on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and as a policy advisor after the 2008 Financial Crisis at the Treasury Department under Secretary Tim Geithner. 

Kate graduated from Yale Law School and summa cum laude from Harvard College. She clerked on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and FISA Court of Review. Kate was a Senior Fellow at Yale University and has published award-winning papers including The Federal Reserve’s Role in Foreign Policy. Kate is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia School of International & Public Affairs and a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Kate lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
