Personal Details

Junho is a fifth-year PhD student in Sustainable Development at Columbia University. His research examines how emerging technologies shape energy systems and their environmental and human consequences. Current projects study the broader environmental consequences of internet infrastructure expansion, as well as the health and labor market effects of electricity sector emissions driven by AI data center load growth and cryptocurrency mining. Prior to the PhD, he worked at the Climate Impact Lab, contributing to the social cost of carbon estimates used by the Biden Administration. Junho holds an MA in Computational Social Science (Economics focus) from the University of Chicago and an AB in Economics from Princeton University.
