Jonathan Malagón is an Adjunct Associate Professor at SIPA, teaching Macroeconomic in the MPA-EPM. His work bridges public policy, inclusive development, and macroeconomics, with a focus on growth, infrastructure, and financial systems in emerging markets.

He previously served as Minister of Housing, Cities, and Territory of Colombia (2018-2022), where he led historical records in affordable housing programs. Earlier in his career, he was Director of Macroeconomic and Sectoral Analysis of Fedesarrollo, Colombia’s leading economic think tank, General Manager of COMPARTEL, and Chief Economist of Telefonica Colombia. Currently, he is President and CEO of the Colombian Banking and Financial Institutions Association (Asobancaria).

Malagón holds a PhD in Economics and master’s degrees in corporate finance, banking, public administration, and contemporary art. He has been professor at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad Javeriana, CESA, Universidad Externado and Universidad Sergio Arboleda.
