Jack Pan is a career diplomat with the U.S. Department of State. Jack has served in India, China, Iraq, and taught U.S. immigration policy at the Foreign Service Institute in Washington DC. Jack last served at the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland. Jack speaks English, German, and Mandarin, and received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, and his master's degree from Harvard University in public policy.

After the fall of Kabul in August 2021, the U.S. State Department asked Jack to lead the Afghanistan evacuations in Sicily's Sigonella Naval Air Station, and then at Kosovo's Camp Bondsteel. As the Russian military invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the Department asked Jack to manage the subsequent evacuations in Krakow, Poland, before sending him again to continue the U.S. government’s Afghan response in Doha, Qatar in September 2022.

Jack is happily married to his wife Reshma for 14 years. Reshma is a certified personal trainer, born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. Jack grew up in Pasadena, California - home of the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade.
