Hasti is a first-year PhD student particularly interested in sustainable water management. Hasti studies different parameters that result in water resource changes, and their impacts on resource allocation and water markets. She values forecasting and economic simulation studies in order to be prepared for extreme events in environmental sustainability.
Hasti graduated with a Master`s degree in Civil Engineering focused on water resources management and engineering from Sharif University of Technology. During her research, she viewed water policies from a unique perspective, taking into account factors such as using economic concepts to face climate change issues. Prior to Columbia University, Hasti worked as a Consultant and Technical Expert at a Water and Wastewater Company for two years. In her free time, Hasti enjoys hiking and spending time in nature.
