Personal Details
Emilio (he/him; they/them) is a first-year PhD student with an interest in environmental economics and development. In particular, he is interested in researching how environmental changes affect poverty and inequality, as well as the ways technology and institutions can reduce the unequal impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations.
Emilio has previously worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, researching how air pollution and deforestation affect the well-being of populations in Latin America and the Caribbean, and what policies can curb these adverse effects. He holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.
In his free time, he enjoys running, practicing yoga, and exploring the city.
