Cameron Scalera
PhD Student
Cameron (he/him) is a second year PhD student in Sustainable Development at Columbia. His research interests are in environmental and health economics. He is also interested in interdisciplinary methods that use remote sensing and natural science-based modeling.
Cameron earned a BA in Economics and French from the University of Virginia in 2021. He then spent two years at the U.S. Census Bureau’s Center for Economic Studies. There, he helped build a microdata infrastructure and assisted in research pertaining to environmental inequality, in collaboration with the Environmental Inequality Lab. He intends to conduct future research on plastics, pollution, waste, and the food system.
In his free time, Cameron enjoys running, traveling, learning new languages, and cooking.
