Personal Details

Barbara Magnoni is the President of EA Consultants and Adjunct Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She has over 23 years of international finance and development experience. With a focus on placing clients at the center of the experience, she has collaborated with financial institutions, including Axa-Mandiri in Indonesia, BanRural in Guatemala, Satin Credit-Care in India, Compartamos in Mexico, INISER in Nicaragua, JUMO in East Africa, and Resolution Insurance in Kenya, to design and adapt client-driven products for low income businesses and households. She has advised financial institutions, investors, policymakers and donors on improving access to inclusive financial services worldwide, with an emphasis on building sustainable business models that create value for end clients as well for institutions and their stakeholders. She co-founded Andares, Mujeres para las microfinanzas, a network of women working in financial inclusion in Latin America that promotes women’s leadership, and most recently co-founded a start up in MeXCo Soluciones that distributes financial technology to the bottom of the pyramid through an innovative model of employing women over 40. Ms. Magnoni holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University in International Affairs. She is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian.
