Aniket Shah is a practitioner in the space of sustainable finance, whose career has bridged the public and private sectors. He is the Managing Director and Global Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Sustainability Strategy at Jefferies Group LLC. In this role, Aniket is responsible for Jefferies’ global efforts on ESG and sustainable finance across investment banking, equities, and fixed income. He manages a team of seven dedicated ESG professionals advising institutional investors and corporates on ESG strategy, ranging from portfolio construction to IPO strategy of private companies. 

Aniket is a leader in various global efforts around financing sustainability. He is a Senior Fellow at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University, where he teaches graduate courses on finance, sustainability, and ESG investing. Aniket was previously the Head of Sustainability and ESG Research- Americas at UBS, and the Head of ESG & Sustainable Investing at Oppenheimer Funds.  

Aniket serves on various boards and as an advisor to leading organizations around the world. He is the International Treasurer of Amnesty International, where he oversees a $400m annual budget. He previously was the Chair of Amnesty International's Board of Directions from 2017-2018, the Treasurer beginning in 2013, and has been a board member since 2006. Aniket is also on the Board of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN), a member of the National Council of World Wildlife Fund USA, and of The Economic Club of New York. 

Aniket has a doctorate from Oxford University in Economic Geography, with a focus on sustainable finance at Oxford's Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. He is an honors graduate of Yale University, where he was a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship.
