Andrew M. Ditton

Andrew Ditton has devoted more than 38 years to community development and public-private partnerships since launching his career with a nine-year stint as a community organizer and developer at Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago. He is currently a Managing Director and Chief of CRA Strategy at Citi. He previously served for 15 years as Co-Head of Citi Community Capital (CCC) managing all community development lending and investment activity for the international financial services conglomerate. Since joining Citi in 1999, Mr. Ditton built CCC into one of the nation’s premier community development businesses. During 2012 CCC lent and invested nearly $5 billion. Prior to joining Citi, he was a partner in a real estate development firm in Chicago that focused on affordable housing, with total development activity (1998) of more than $35 million. Mr. Ditton spent 13 years at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the nation’s largest community development intermediary, serving in various capacities including Chief Operating Officer of LISC (1991 through 1997), Senior Vice President (1989 through 1991), Vice President for Development and Finance (1987 through 1989), and Program Director for LISC’s Chicago-based activities (1984 through 1986). Among the many accomplishments during his tenure there, he established the National Equity Fund (one of the country’s largest low income housing tax credit syndicators), formed TRI (an equity fund for commercial/retail projects), and raised over $1.5 billion in corporate equity investments. Mr. Ditton’s board service (past and present) includes: the Community Development Trust (CDT), National Equity Fund (NEF), The Non-Profit Facilities Fund (NFF), and the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), which he also chaired from 2006 to 2008.  Mr. Ditton earned a BA degree from Shimer College, and an MA in Urban Studies from Loyola University.
