Biography

Ambassador Beth Jones (ret) served 40 years in the U.S. Foreign Service.  Her senior positions included Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia, Assistant Secretary for the Near East (Acting), and U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan.  She served recently as Coordinator for the Afghan Relocation Effort after the fall of Kabul and as Charge’ d’Affaires for the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi.  Beth also was Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Senior Advisor for Caspian Energy Diplomacy, and Deputy Chief of Mission for U.S. Embassies Bonn and Islamabad.  Her other overseas posts were Kabul, Cairo, Amman, Baghdad and West Berlin. She has served on several nonprofit boards and has also worked as a consultant in the private sector.  She is married to Don Ruschman and has two adult children.
