Alina Gafanova
PhD Student
Alina (they/she) is a second-year PhD student in Sustainable Development interested in studying the equity-efficiency tradeoff and distributional effects of environmental policies. Before starting their PhD, Alina was a predoctoral fellow at the Energy Policy Institute of the University of Chicago (EPIC). At EPIC, they worked on projects related to the economic impacts of natural disasters, monsoon seasons, and climate change. Alina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the New Economic School and the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia).
