Alina (they/she) is a fourth-year PhD student in Sustainable Development working at the intersection of labor and environmental economics. Their research focuses on the hazards workers are exposed to, including extreme heat and toxic chemicals.

Before starting their PhD, Alina was a predoctoral fellow at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC). They hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the New Economic School and the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia).
