Adoption of Innovation in Member Organizations of the OECD Development Assistance Committee

Over the last twenty years, innovation has gained considerable momentum among many development organizations and government agencies who strive to solve global development challenges, advance development outcomes and achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The Innovation for Development Facility at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which supports its members in these efforts, partnered with a SIPA Workshop team to carry out a study on development innovation. The team was tasked with developing case studies on successful adoption of innovation strategies across several members of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC). Through extensive desk research and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, the team created a comprehensive case study framework and compared innovation practices undertaken by five member agencies (AFD, FCDO, GIZ, KOICA and USAID). The case studies developed by the team were included in this 2023 publication by OECD.
