The economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the financial situations of many SIPA students. The support we have received from members of our community has allowed us to meet the needs of our students, from supporting travel, moving, and storage costs due to displacement from campus, technology needs as a result of the transition to a remote learning environment, housing for students not able to return home due to travel bans, and emergency funding for other unexpected needs for healthcare and basic supplies.

As we plan for the future, SIPA remains committed to meeting our students’ needs. For the upcoming academic year, we anticipate seeing increased need for financial aid, fellowships, and resources for students seeking to gain equal access to their education amid the challenges that the current climate present.  Read the latest COVID-19 information and updates from SIPA and the University.

STUDENT FINANCIAL AID

The economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the financial situations of many SIPA students. Fellowship funding is made available from a number of sources, including gifts from many generous donors who want to help keep a SIPA education affordable and accessible.  Fellowships provide financial aid for SIPA students and can be established with either current-use funds or endowed funds. In the 2019-2020 academic year, 40% of SIPA students received fellowships with an average package of $32,000. For the upcoming academic year, we anticipate that the average need for fellowship support will increase exponentially.
