Irina Preotescu is a MIA '21 candidate concentrating in Economic and Political Development and specializing in UN Studies and International Conflict Resolution. Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Irina obtained her B.A. in Psychology from St. John's University as a Division I tennis student-athlete. She has interned with the Permanent Mission of Romania to the UN and has worked for the Consulate General of Romania to New York. Irina is currently interning with Methods for Irrigation and Agriculture Jordan, working on issues related to water footprint and water scarcity in Jordan. Her professional and research interests are focused on UN Peacekeeping, education in emergencies, reintegration, conflict resolution, and innovative policymaking.
